Availability Requirements: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Weekends
Join our dynamic team as a Climbing Instructor and inspire adventurers of all ages to reach new heights! A Climbing Instructor is responsible for teaching safe climbing techniques, supervising climbers, and maintaining a positive, inclusive, and safety-focused gym setting. Instructors guide beginners and experienced climbers, conduct classes and private lessons, and ensure all safety protocols are followed while promoting skill development and confidence.
Primary Responsibilities:
Instruction & Coaching
· Teach climbing techniques including bouldering, top-rope, lead climbing, and
· belaying
· Instruct proper use of climbing equipment and safety systems
· Lead group classes, youth programs, camps, and private lessons
· Assess climbers’ skill levels and adapt instruction accordingly
Safety & Supervision
· Monitor climbers on the floor to ensure safe practices at all times.
· Perform belay checks and enforce gym safety rules
· Respond appropriately to accidents or emergencies and administer basic first aid
· Identify unsafe behavior and correct it promptly
· Inspect ropes, harnesses, anchors, and other equipment for wear or damage
Customer Service
· Create a welcoming, encouraging environment for all climbers
· Answer questions about climbing techniques, programs, and memberships
· Support climbers in building confidence and overcoming fear
Gym Operations
· Assist with opening and closing duties
· Welcome and check-in customers, process payment, and answer telephone calls
· Ensure climbing areas are clean and organized, including cleaning and sanitizing climbing walls and roofs
· Support special events, competitions, and community programs
· Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
· Strong climbing skills and experience (indoor and/or outdoor)
· Knowledge of climbing safety standards and best practices
· Ability to clearly communicate instructions and safety guidelines
· CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
· Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays
· Physical ability to stand for long periods, demonstrate techniques, and lift equipment
Preferred Qualifications
· Belay certification (top-rope and lead, gym-specific or nationally recognized)
· Prior teaching, coaching, or customer service experience
· Experience working with youth or group instruction

Pay: From $20.75 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 16.0 per week
