Title: Cloud Solution Architect — Payment Platform Migration

Location: Toronto, on-site 2x/week (Yonge & Bay area)

Level: Senior (7+ years), architect-level thinking

Duration: 6-12 months (contract-to-hire option available)

Project Context: Client is modernizing their payment stack and migrating from legacy infrastructure to cloud (AWS). This person leads the architectural strategy to ensure the migration is fast, secure, and compliant.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and guide cloud migration strategy for payment platform infrastructure
- Lead cloud architecture decisions (AWS-focused)
- Work with teams on migration planning, sequencing, and risk mitigation
- Ensure migration aligns with compliance, security, and performance requirements
- Validate and optimize cloud infrastructure for payment workloads (high availability, low latency, security)

Required Skills:




- AWS-certified Solution Architect (Skilled or Associate level; certification required or must be immediately obtainable)
- Strong AWS architecture expertise (5+ years designing systems on AWS)
- Cloud migration experience (data movement, infrastructure, cutover planning)
- Banking/financial services (ideal; if not, payment domain knowledge a plus)
- High availability/disaster recovery: Payment systems can't go down

Nice-to-Haves:
- Banking/financial services background
- Payment system migration experience
- Compliance/security architecture for regulated industries (PCI-DSS, SOX)
- Database migration experience (legacy → cloud)
