Cloud Software Engineer – Python/AWS

Contract: 4 months | Start: ASAP | Location: Ontario | Work Arrangement: Primarily Remote with occasional onsite requirements

Role Overview

We are seeking a Cloud Software Engineer with strong Python and AWS experience to support cloud-native application and data platform initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain applications using Python and Java.
- Build cloud-native solutions using AWS, including Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, and API Gateway.
- Support APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
- Support Infrastructure-as-Code and automation using Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, investigate logs, and perform root cause analysis.
- Participate in code reviews and follow software engineering best practices.




- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile environments.

Requirements

- 2–5 years of software engineering, cloud engineering, or DevOps experience.
- Robust hands-on Python development experience.
- Experience with AWS, particularly serverless services.
- Experience with APIs, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
- Strong Git and CI/CD experience.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have Terraform, Snowflake, AWS S3/Glue/Athena, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS security, monitoring/observability, and AI-assisted development tools.
