Copilot said:Commercial Insurance AdvocateExperienced Commercial Account Manager or Broker100% Remote | Anywhere in Canada

Tired of working in a traditional brokerage where outdated systems, limited autonomy, internal bureaucracy, or private equity or shareholder priorities get in the way of doing great work for clients?

ALIGNED Insurance is looking for an experienced commercial insurance professional who wants to work differently.

This is an opportunity to join a contemporary, independent Canadian brokerage where you can work from home indefinitely, become an owner, leverage leading technology and AI, access broad commercial insurance markets, and focus on helping clients rather than cold calling.

We are not looking for someone who simply processes renewals. We are looking for a commercially minded insurance qualified who takes ownership, thinks critically, communicates proactively, and wants to deliver a better insurance experience.

Why Experienced Brokers Join ALIGNED100% Remote, Indefinitely

Work from wherever you perform best in Canada. ALIGNED's systems, processes, and operating model were built to support remote work, not temporarily adapted to it.

You will have flexibility and autonomy, supported by a connected national team, regular Microsoft Teams collaboration, virtual and in-person events, and ongoing professional development.

Become an Owner!

Every ALIGNED colleague participates in ownership so that the people creating value can share in the long-term success of the business.

We believe ownership changes how people think, serve clients, collaborate, and make decisions.

Work at a Modern, Technology-Forward Brokerage

ALIGNED continues to invest in Microsoft 365, Copilot, Applied Epic, Salesforce, SharePoint, automation, AI-supported workflows, and integrated data.

Our objective is not to replace professional judgment. It is to reduce repetitive work, improve consistency, surface important information faster, and give Advocates more time for client advice, negotiations, and relationship building.

Examples include AI-supported renewal reviews, prospect audits, market follow-ups, meeting preparation, binding requirement tracking, and client communications.

You should be comfortable learning new systems, improving workflows, embracing innovation, and helping shape how a modern brokerage operates.

Deliver Advice, Not Just Transactions

Our proprietary Audit. Optimize. Execute. approach is designed to identify exposures, coverage gaps, market opportunities, and practical improvements before moving to execution.

ALIGNED positions the Advocate role as advisory work built around client outcomes and long-term relationships, not transactional selling.

No Cold Calling Required

This role is designed for an experienced insurance professional who enjoys advising, negotiating, retaining, and expanding client relationships.

You will receive opportunities through ALIGNED's digital marketing platform, referral partnerships, existing client relationships, and growing pipeline opportunities.

Advocates can also earn additional compensation through self-generated business if they choose to develop their own relationships and referral networks.

Broad Market Access and Interesting Accounts

You will work across diverse Canadian industries and insurance products, supported by relationships with domestic, specialty, wholesale, and international insurers.

The role includes opportunities to handle more complex risks, expand your technical knowledge, collaborate with experienced colleagues, and develop expertise in areas that interest you most.

What You Will Do

As an ALIGNED Commercial Insurance Advocate, you will:

- Manage and grow a portfolio of commercial insurance clients.
- Lead renewals from early planning through negotiation, presentation, binding, and documentation.
- Use our Audit. Optimize. Execute. process to identify exposures, coverage gaps, cross-selling opportunities, and risk management improvements.
- Develop a thorough understanding of each client's operations, priorities, contracts, and risk profile.
- Prepare complete and compelling underwriting submissions.
- Negotiate coverage, pricing, terms, and conditions with insurers.
- Present recommendations clearly so clients can make informed decisions.
- Build strong professional relationships with clients, prospects, underwriters, and colleagues.
- Respond proactively and keep work moving without requiring repeated follow-up.
- Maintain accurate and timely records in Applied Epic, Salesforce, Microsoft 365, and related systems.
- Use Copilot, automation, templates, and data to improve efficiency and client experience.
- Participate in training, insurer meetings, peer collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute ideas that simplify workflows, eliminate rework, and improve how the brokerage operates.
- Act as an owner and brand ambassador in every interaction.

You May Be a Strong Fit If You
- Have at least 7-15 years of commercial insurance brokerage, account management, or client executive experience.
- Hold the licensing required for the province(s) in which you operate, or can obtain it.
- Understand commercial insurance coverage, underwriting information, market submissions, renewals, and policy servicing.
- Are highly organized, responsive, and capable of managing competing priorities independently.
- Take ownership instead of waiting to be reminded.

- Think critically and identify exposures, opportunities, and potential gaps.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and insurers.
- Are comfortable being accountable for measurable outcomes.
- Welcome coaching, feedback, and continuous improvement.
- Are curious about technology and willing to adopt new tools.
- Care about accuracy but also understand the importance of speed and execution.

- Want to help clients, not simply process transactions.
- Are frustrated by traditional brokerage limitations and ready to operate at a higher standard.

CAIB, CIP, FCIP, CRM, RPLU, or similar insurance and risk management designations are considered strong assets, but are not required.
