Overview
We are seeking a compassionate Female Community Support Worker fluent in Arabic to provide dedicated 1-on-1 support to a client residing in a group home setting. Due to the nature of personal care routines (including support with dressing, hygiene, and intimate care) and the client’s specific language requirements for effective communication and emotional well-being, female gender and Arabic fluency are genuine occupational requirements (BFOR) for this position.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1-on-1 daily living assistance in a residential group home environment.
- Assist with personal care routines while respecting the client's privacy and dignity.
- Communicate fluently in Arabic to support social engagement, de-escalation, and accurate delivery of personal care plans.
- Accompany the client on community outings and appointments.
- Assist and support individuals to participate in a meaningful way in their personal life planning, in the identification and definition of personal goals and aspirations, and in the definition and expansion of opportunities for personal growth, and meaningful and valued roles within the community. Measuring outcomes related to their goals.
- Assists in the development of basic living and related skills, with a view to enhancing the individual’s confidence, competence and participation within their social network.
- Is aware of the individual’s physical, social and recreational environments, and takes action to minimize risks and maximize participation/inclusion, working with experienced resources when appropriate.
- Is aware of and adheres to established policies and operational protocol.
- Learns about opportunities in the community, and assists and supports the individual with general access and participation in them
- Models socially appropriate behaviors, assists and encourages the individual to make and maintain appropriate community connections
- Assists with personal care for individuals with high needs and/or medically fragile individuals, in a manner that ensures privacy, dignity, and respect.
- Assists and supports individuals to advocate on their own behalf, when necessary and appropriate, to have their needs met, and advocate on behalf of the individual when required and appropriate.
- Communicates in a skilled, timely, accurate, and respectful manner with individuals, families, guardians, staff and community representatives; has a firm understanding of confidentiality and FOIP.
- Adheres to all positive and restrictive procedures that are in place.
- Reports noticeable changes in any individual’s behavior or health concerns to Team Leader. Also communicates with TL any maintenance work that needs to be done on the home, if it is not within CSW scope of knowledge.

$2 Million liability insurance
Pay: From $21.72 per hour
