Role Description The Site Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day construction activities that ensure Octave Design and Build projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the quality standards required by the company or the owner. This includes supervising material deliveries, subcontractor activities, building inspections, and other responsibilities described below.

Responsibilities

- Oversee daily progress of work at site operations.
- Report to Project Manager and advise on site issues, especially those affecting safety, quality, or progress of the works.
- Maintain a detailed daily log of construction activities, including progress made, materials used, and workforce on-site.
- Document weather conditions, significant events, and any deviations from the original plan.
- Identify job site facility requirements and work with the project manager to acquire assets as necessary.
- Establish and maintain job site security if required.
- Contact local building and permitting officials and set up parameters for job site inspections.
- Support the project manager in the subcontractor bidding and awarding stages to ensure that prospective subcontractors are aware of quality requirements.




- Ensure that the work installed conforms to contract documents and quality standards.
- Conduct jobsite safety inspections, no less than once a week; complete jobsite safety checklist and follow up on corrective actions.
- Address safety concerns in regular progress meetings with all subcontractors and personnel.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations.

Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in residential construction, townhomes, and townhouses.
- Must have exceptional time management skills and the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work with minimal supervision.
- Reading comprehension of technical documents.
- Confidence to thrive under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail is a must.
- Have skills and intend to work with tools or moving construction objects if it's required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly are essential.
- Proficiency with MS Office, including Outlook.
- Experience using construction management software, like Buildertrend, is preferred.

Job Type: Contract full-time (The first six months are designated as a probationary period). Work Location: Oakville, ON (L6K 0J3)

Contract length: 12 months

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: $100,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
