3M – Gender Studies: Queer History** Reporting to the Principal of Adult and Continuing
Education, the Night School teacher will be responsible for the instructional delivery of twice weekly synchronous classes (Tuesday/Thursday). The teacher will be responsible for all aspects of credit-earning secondary school course, including record keeping and midterm and final reporting for their assigned course. The teacher should be comfortable teaching in face-to-face, eLearning and hybrid formats.
Intermediate/Senior Qualifications Required Teaching and Learning Through eLearning AQ
Preferred Completion of AQ: Teaching LGBTQ Students or learned/ lived experience in this area (recommended)
Dates Semester 1: Tuesday/Thursday September 22,
2026-January 19, 2027
Teacher Location: Remote (Barrie Learning Centre available as needed)

Position Will Demonstrate Evidence Of
- knowledge of Culturally Relevant
and Responsive Pedagogy (CRRP) and anti- oppressive pedagogy
- familiarity with teaching in the
Humanities, Equity and Social Justice or equivalent curriculum subject areas;
- A diverse set of effective
evidence-informed instructional strategies to engage a diverse range of students
- Thorough knowledge of the Ontario Curriculum, Growing Success and the
School Effectiveness Framework
Major
Responsibilities For Night School Teacher
- 3 hours of SYNCHRONOUS instruction twice a week from 6 pm - 9 pm
remotely or at the Barrie Learning Centre (if reliable internet and/or environment is required)
- Implementing effective student assessment
practices (e.g. descriptive feedback)
- Enhance curriculum-based content to
integrate differentiated instructional strategies designed to improve student engagement and foster deeper learning The Night School teaching position will be available only if the minimum registration numbers are attained.
