Role Description The Contract AV Event Specialist is a part-time, 100% remote role based in Toronto (GTA), ON. This role is responsible for planning, setting up, operating, and troubleshooting audio-visual equipment for live and hybrid events, including microphones, sound systems, projectors, displays, lighting, and streaming tools. The specialist coordinates with internal teams, clients, and venue staff to ensure smooth event execution, including rehearsals, run-of-show, and technical cues.
Tasks include reviewing event requirements, testing equipment, managing vendor relationships, and managing inventory of AV assets. The role also involves supporting event marketing efforts with technical input,
providing on-site customer service, and ensuring that every event aligns with Stanley Park Creative’s standards for engaging, high-quality experiences.
Qualifications
- Robust customer service skills with a focus on creating positive, professional experiences for clients, vendors, and event participants.
- Excellent communication skills, including clear verbal communication, active listening, and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven event planning experience, including coordinating logistics, timelines, technical requirements, and on-site execution.
- Familiarity with Zoom, Teams and other webcast software platforms, including supporting remote users for event-related services.
- Hands-on experience with AV equipment setup and operation (audio, video, lighting, and streaming technologies) in corporate or live event environments.
- Ability to work on-site in Toronto, ON, with flexibility for occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends as required by event schedules.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and solution-focused during live events.
- Relevant education or training in event management, audiovisual technology, communications, or a related field is an asset.
- Previous experience in corporate, pharmaceutical, or agency settings is considered an advantage.
