THE OPPORTUNITY

HAWE Canada is seeking a capable and customer-focused Software Developer to support the Electrical Controls Group within our System Engineering Department. In this role, you will design, program, integrate, troubleshoot, and commission electro-hydraulic control systems for industrial and mobile machinery. You will work closely with customers, sales, suppliers, and HAWE engineering teams to turn technical requirements into reliable, application-specific solutions.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Develop project scopes, component selections, cost estimates, electrical designs, and detailed schematics for assigned control-system projects.
- Design and program PLC, PC-based, and HMI software to customer and project requirements, with a focus on Structured Text (ST) and C programming.
- Configure and implement control solutions using controller platforms.
- Integrate CAN bus (J1939 and CAN OPEN), ISOBUS, EtherNet/IP, and other networked systems; develop radio-remote-control where required.
- Perform system debugging and commissioning during internal integration and at customer sites; provide installation and end-user training as required.
- Support quotations, technical sales visits, product presentations, inside and field sales, distribution partners, and direct OEM customers.
- Coordinate technical information with HAWE engineering teams, including colleagues in Munich, and provide responsive electro-hydraulic technical support.




- Prepare and deliver customer and internal training materials for HAWE control products and project-specific applications.

WHAT YOU BRING

- Five or more years of experience in mobile or industrial electronics design, including PLC and HMI programming.
- Demonstrated expertise with PLCs, motion controllers, HMIs, network protocols, and closed- and open-loop motion-control applications.
- Working knowledge of industrial servo and proportional valves, valve amplifiers, electric linear actuators, servo motors, and radio remote controls.
- Foundational fluid-power knowledge, including hydraulic-system applications and troubleshooting; familiarity with HAWE products and systems is an asset.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to varied audiences.
- Proficiency with engineering and productivity tools, including programming software such as CODESYS, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and documentation systems.
- A collaborative, professional, and solutions-oriented approach, paired with robust ownership, curiosity, and a commitment to quality work.
- Good understanding of software version control platforms like GitHub.
