About the role
- Dental Assistants are responsible for providing high-quality patient care by performing a variety of clinical, laboratory, and administrative duties. This includes assisting the dentist with patient management, preparing and handling instruments and supplies, and supporting procedures involving the teeth, mouth, and gums.
What you'll do
- Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays).
- Review patients’ medical histories and record vital signs, including blood pressure and pulse.
- Serve as the infection control officer by developing protocols and preparing/sterilizing instruments and equipment.
- Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment.
- Provide post-operative instructions for oral care following procedures such as restorations, extractions, and surgeries.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling.
- Take dental impressions for study models and other diagnostic purposes.
- Perform administrative and office management tasks using a personal computer.
- Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and suppliers—handling scheduling, phone calls, billing, and supply orders.
- Support direct patient care across multiple dental specialties, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, and oral surgery.
Qualifications
- Dental assisting: 1 year (Preferred)
