Insight Global is looking for a Cryptography Specialist to join a financial services client in a permanent full-time position. This role will follow a hybrid model, requiring the successful candidate to work onsite three days per week, with Monday and Wednesday as set office days and flexibility to select the third day.

The Cryptography

Specialist will join the security team as a subject matter expert supporting Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), and broader cryptographic operations. The organization processes millions of transactions per day, making this a critical role in supporting secure payment processing and cryptographic infrastructure.

The successful candidate will initially focus on expanding the capabilities of the existing Venafi Certificate Lifecycle Management platform. This will include enabling discovery and scanning across network and application environments for TLS certificates, onboarding identified certificates into Venafi, and mapping and designing how scanning capabilities will be implemented.

The Cryptography

Specialist will work closely with vendors and internal stakeholders to define business requirements, contribute to solution design, oversee implementation against the approved design, and support application testing. The role will also support business-as-usual HSM activities, including key exchanges and key injections for new merchants. During the first two to three months, approximately 80% of the role will focus on Venafi, transitioning to an approximately equal split between Venafi and HSM responsibilities.

Must Haves:





- 5+ years of professional experience working with PKI, HSMs, and cryptography; candidates with fewer years may be considered if they demonstrate strong relevant expertise
- Hands-on experience working with Venafi Certificate Lifecycle Management, including managing the platform and supporting TLS certificate discovery, management, integration, and automation
- Strong understanding of Hardware Security Modules, including configuring, maintaining, and monitoring HSM environments
- Experience with HSM server architecture, cryptographic key storage, key exchanges, key injections, and key disposal
- Experience mapping and designing network and application scanning capabilities within Venafi
- Strong understanding of cryptographic algorithms and cipher suites
- Experience gathering business requirements, contributing to solution design, supporting implementation, and testing applications
- Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical teams and external qualified services partners
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills

- Understanding of PCI, PIN, and P2PE standards
- Previous experience working with payment-specific HSMs
- Experience supporting merchant enablement and payment cryptography operations
- Previous experience working in a high-volume payment processing environment
