About the Role
PlutoSec is looking for an experienced Cybersecurity Project Manager to join and strengthen our existing cybersecurity team in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). This is a client-facing role requiring a strong understanding of cybersecurity services, particularly penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, cloud security, security assessments, and compliance engagements.
The successful candidate will work closely with our penetration testers, security consultants, compliance specialists, and clients to ensure cybersecurity engagements are properly scoped, scheduled, executed, and delivered.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead client meetings, discovery calls, project kickoffs, status meetings, and final debriefing sessions.
- Act as a primary point of contact between clients and PlutoSec's technical cybersecurity team.
- Understand client environments, business requirements, security concerns, and compliance objectives.
- Coordinate Web Application, API, Mobile, Network, Internal/External Infrastructure, and Cloud Penetration Testing engagements.
- Manage Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) projects from initial scoping through final reporting and retesting.
- Have a working understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and compliance requirements, including ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, NIST, CIS Controls, HIPAA/PHIPA, and related security standards.
- Work with technical teams to define project scope, timelines, testing requirements, deliverables, and client expectations.
- Review and coordinate Statements of Work (SOWs), project plans, security questionnaires, assessment requirements, and deliverables.
- Track multiple cybersecurity engagements simultaneously and ensure milestones and deadlines are met.
- Coordinate remediation discussions between clients and security consultants following security assessments.
- Ensure critical or high-risk security findings are appropriately communicated and escalated.
- Support projects involving AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, APIs, web applications, and enterprise infrastructure.
- Maintain skilled communication with technical teams, executives, IT managers, compliance teams, and other client stakeholders.
Required Qualifications Candidates should have experience in IT, cybersecurity, information security, or technical project management and be comfortable discussing cybersecurity concepts with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A good understanding of penetration testing methodologies, vulnerability management, cloud security, network security, application security, risk management, and compliance is strongly preferred.
Experience managing cybersecurity consulting or professional-services engagements is considered a strong asset.
Relevant certifications such as PMP, CISM, CISSP, Security+, CISA, CRISC, ISO 27001, or similar credentials are an advantage but are not mandatory.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is professional, organized, client-focused, and technically knowledgeable. You do not need to perform penetration testing yourself, but you should understand the terminology, methodology, findings, remediation process, and compliance requirements well enough to confidently manage client conversations and coordinate with our security team.
You will be joining an existing PlutoSec cybersecurity team in the GTA, helping us expand our capacity to manage client engagements and deliver high-quality cybersecurity projects across Canada and other markets.
