- The expected base salary range for this position is
$90/Hr - $98/Hr,
depending on experience, skills, and internal equity.

Overview:
- Our Capital Markets client is seeking an experienced Data Engineer - Expert to support a large-scale middle-office transformation initiative focused on improving operational efficiency and exception management across trade processing workflows.
- This role will play a critical part in designing and establishing a centralized exception data layer that enables real-time monitoring, identification, and resolution of trade and transaction exceptions before they impact downstream operations. The successful candidate will combine robust data modeling, data profiling, and trade lifecycle expertise to help define and deliver scalable data solutions supporting a modernized operational ecosystem.
- Working closely with business stakeholders, operations teams, architects, and technology partners, you will translate complex trade processing requirements into robust data models, quality frameworks,
and exception management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop logical and physical data models supporting trade and transaction processing workflows.
- Establish and enhance a centralized exception data layer used to monitor and manage real-time operational exceptions.
- Analyze trade and transaction data flows to identify opportunities for process optimization and operational efficiency.
- Partner with middle-office, operations, and technology stakeholders to gather and document business and technical requirements.
- Define functional and non-functional requirements supporting data products and exception management solutions.
- Perform data profiling and analysis to identify data quality issues, anomalies, and operational risks.
- Create detailed data mappings, lineage documentation, source-to-target mappings, and data dictionaries.
- Develop data quality rules and validation logic to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with architects and development teams to ensure solutions support current and future business needs.
- Support testing efforts, validation activities, and rollout strategies for new data products and exception management capabilities.
- Provide recommendations for improving data governance, quality, and operational processes.
- Deliver actionable insights through advanced data analysis and trend identification.
Required Qualifications:
Experience
- 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Modeling, Data Management, or a related field.
- Extensive experience with data modeling and data profiling.
- Proven experience establishing or supporting a centralized exception data layer or exception management framework.
- Strong understanding of trade and transaction lifecycles within Capital Markets environments.
- Experience working with middle-office, trade operations, transaction processing, or post-trade workflows.
- Experience creating data lineage, mapping, and data quality documentation.

- Knowledge of real-time monitoring and exception management solutions.
Ideal Candidate:
- The ideal candidate is a senior-level Data Engineer with a strong foundation in data modeling, data profiling, and trade lifecycle data.
- They understand how trades move through front, middle, and back-office processes and can design scalable data solutions that support real-time exception monitoring and operational decision-making.
- Candidates who have previously built or contributed to centralized exception management frameworks within Capital Markets environments will be highly preferred.
