About The Role Utilismart Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator to join our Information Technology team. Reporting directly to the Manager of IT, this role is pivotal in safeguarding and optimizing the company's internal data infrastructure.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the robustness, security, and scalability of Utilismart’s databases, supporting the growth of our digital platform and long-term strategic objectives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where technology innovation and data integrity are at the forefront.

The Database

Administrator will develop and implement policies, oversee database performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data availability and security across all platforms.

Qualifications

- A post-secondary degree or diploma in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of professional experience working with SQL, Oracle databases, and Solaris operating systems.
- Proven expertise in database design, development, and management, with a strong understanding of data security protocols.




- Industry-recognized certifications relevant to database administration, such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, or similar credentials.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning through workshops, training, and staying current with emerging technologies and best practices.

- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

- Develop and implement comprehensive data administration policies, standards, and models to ensure consistent and secure data management practices.
- Lead and coordinate teams of data administrators during database development and maintenance phases.

- Research, document, and enforce critical data requirements, collection policies, access rules, and security protocols to safeguard sensitive information.
- Create and maintain procedures for network and Internet database access, including usage policies, backup, and disaster recovery plans.
- Maintain, patch, and secure databases to ensure optimal performance, stability, and security.

- Calculate and adjust database parameters to optimize performance and ensure database health.
- Design and implement utilities and tools for monitoring database performance and health metrics.
- Develop and maintain scripts for stored procedures, triggers, and automation tasks to streamline database operations.

- Conduct research and provide expert advice to other IT professionals regarding data collection, security, and availability strategies.




- Maintain comprehensive user manuals and instructional materials to support internal teams and end-users.
- Provide Tier I and Tier II support to internal staff, troubleshooting and resolving database-related issues efficiently.

- Support Utilismart’s ISO certification processes by maintaining necessary ISMS documentation and compliance records.
