About the Opportunity

Leap Recruitment Partners has been retained by one of Southern Ontario’s premier, long-standing insurance brokerages to identify an exceptional senior executive. Known for their deep market relationships and customized risk solutions, our client is seeking a Director, Commercial Lines to champion the strategy, growth, and profitability of their robust Toronto commercial portfolio.

Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President of Commercial Lines, you will lead a dedicated team of Risk Placement Brokers overseeing auto, property, casualty, and specialty lines, while driving continuous operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

- Strategic Leadership: Inspire, mentor, and elevate a high-performing team of Commercial Lines professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.

- Complex Risk Strategy: Partner closely with Senior Risk Placement Brokers on complex, high-value placements across mid-market, enterprise, and specialty accounts.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Align with the Production and Senior Account Management teams to deliver seamless service and exceed client expectations.

- Business Growth: Take ownership of key business objectives to meet and surpass energetic corporate revenue and growth targets.

- People & Performance: Conduct meaningful performance evaluations, establish tailored development plans,



and ensure service standards consistently meet elevated benchmarks.

- Process Optimization: Routinely assess workflows and systems to identify opportunities for operational efficiency, enhanced productivity, and streamlined execution.

What You Bring

- Licensure: Active Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO) license in good standing.

- Proven Leadership: 5+ years of experience directly managing and coaching a Commercial Lines team, with specific expertise leading Senior Risk Placement specialists.

- Technical Mastery: 5+ years of hands-on risk placement experience navigating complex commercial files, mid-market portfolios, and specialty lines.

- Market Presence: Well-established, robust relationships with key insurance carriers and market underwriters.

- Core Skills: Sharp strategic thinking, strong problem-solving acumen for escalated or complex files, and high attention to detail.

- Communication & Tech: Superior interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills paired with high proficiency in standard brokerage management software.
