Shape the narrative as the Director of Communications at the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs. Lead internal and external communication strategies that reflect First Nations priorities and promote the Grand Chief’s agenda. Reporting to the Executive Director, this leadership role requires strategic communication management and supervising a dedicated team.
You will be responsible for crisis communications, media relations, and public profile management, ensuring messaging aligns with organizational goals. Your expertise will help strengthen relationships with stakeholders while overseeing comprehensive marketing and communication initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct environmental scans for communication planning
- Develop internal protocols for communications
- Coordinate crisis communications and media responses
- Manage public profile and messaging of the Grand Chief
- Evaluate and implement brand communication strategies Requirements:
- Degree in communications, political science, or related field
- 10 years’ experience in First Nations policy analysis
- 5 years in leadership roles managing teams
- Robust project management and communication skills
