The organization serves research, academic, clinical, industrial, and government customers across Canada through strong supplier partnerships, technical expertise, and exceptional service.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Director of Sales &

- Marketing to lead the organization's sales, product management, and marketing functions through its next stage of growth.

Reporting to the President and working as a member of the senior leadership team, the Director will establish commercial direction, strengthen execution, and build alignment across teams, customers, and manufacturer partners.

This is a hands-on leadership position suited to a commercially driven professional who can combine strategic thinking, financial discipline, and strong people leadership within a growing and evolving organization.

Key ResponsibilitiesSales &

- Commercial Leadership

- Lead, coach, and develop Sales and Product Managers while strengthening accountability, succession planning, and collaboration across the commercial organization.
- Develop and execute sales, gross margin, and commercial growth strategies.
- Lead annual business planning across sales territories, product categories, vendor strategies, and marketing initiatives.
- Improve sales forecasting, pipeline management, CRM adoption, pricing discipline, and data-driven decision-making.
- Establish effective go-to-market strategies for scientific, laboratory, medical, and technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain senior-level relationships with key manufacturers, strategic customers, suppliers, and business partners.

Product Management
- Provide strategic direction for the company's product portfolio.
- Evaluate supplier and manufacturer partnerships.
- Guide pricing, product positioning, market opportunities, and portfolio growth strategies.
- Identify underperforming product lines and develop strategies to improve performance or optimize the portfolio.
- Identify new products,



categories, and market opportunities aligned with business objectives.

Marketing Leadership
- Develop and execute the organization's overall marketing strategy.
- Oversee digital marketing initiatives, industry events, campaigns, content development, lead generation, and marketing performance.
- Establish measurable marketing KPIs and monitor return on investment.
- Strengthen alignment between marketing activities and sales objectives.

How You Will Make an Impact
- Align sales execution, product strategy, marketing, and corporate priorities.
- Use commercial and financial insights to balance revenue growth, profitability, working capital, and customer needs.
- Partner with operations, customer service, and finance to improve the end-to-end customer experience.
- Identify new markets, adjacent product categories, strategic supplier relationships, and partnership opportunities.
- Lead practical change initiatives that improve commercial performance, reporting, customer engagement, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, growth, collaboration, and customer success.

Qualifications &

- Experience

- Significant progressive leadership experience in sales, marketing, or commercial management within scientific instrumentation, laboratory equipment, medical devices, technical distribution, or a related industry.
- 7+ years of experience in the medical device industry or a closely related technical/healthcare sector.
- Experience managing managers or multiple commercial teams, ideally within a geographically distributed organization.
- 7+ years of experience managing remote or geographically distributed teams.
- Demonstrated success delivering revenue and gross margin growth in a distribution, manufacturing, or representative-based business.




- Robust commercial and financial judgment, including experience with budgets, pricing, forecasting, profitability, and margin management.
- Proven ability to recruit, coach, develop, and retain high-performing leaders and teams.
- 3+ years of experience with account marketing or related B2B marketing activities.
- Strong understanding of CRM systems, sales analytics, marketing technology, and performance reporting.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with customers, suppliers, technical teams, manufacturers, and senior executives.
- Strategic thinker who remains closely connected to day-to-day execution.
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- Must be authorized to work in Canada.

Location &
- Travel

Markham, Ontario, Canada

- Primarily based at the company's headquarters in Markham.
- Regular travel throughout Canada for customer meetings, industry events, supplier/manufacturer meetings, and business development activities.
- Experience managing geographically distributed and remote teams is highly valued.
