Position: Restoration Drywall Finisher / Texture Specialist

Department: Re - Construction

Reports To: Project Manager

Location: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Restoration Drywall Finisher / Texture Specialist to join our restoration team. The successful candidate will be responsible for drywall repairs, taping, mudding, sanding, finishing and texture application following water, fire, smoke and other property damage.

This position requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to match existing drywall and ceiling textures so that repairs blend seamlessly with the surrounding areas.

The ideal candidate is a skilled, self-motivated tradesperson who can work independently, maintain high-quality workmanship and represent the company professionally in customers' homes.

Duties

- Apply joint compound, tape, and other finishing materials to drywall seams and corners to create a flawless surface
- Sand and smooth drywall surfaces to prepare for painting or further finishing work
- Inspect completed drywall work for imperfections and make necessary repairs or touch-ups
- Coordinate with carpenters, painters, and other trades to ensure seamless project progression
- Taping & Finishing
- Apply drywall tape, joint compound and corner bead.

Texture Application & Matching

- Apply a variety of wall and ceiling textures.
- Match existing textures on repaired areas.
- Perform orange peel, knockdown, stipple/popcorn and other common residential textures.
- Reproduce existing texture patterns, density and appearance as closely as possible.




- Blend recent texture into existing surfaces to minimize visible transition lines.
- Repair and texture ceilings following water or fire damage.
- Adjust application techniques and materials to achieve an appropriate match to existing finishes.

Restoration Work

- Work in properties affected by water, fire, smoke and other losses.
- Identify additional damage or deficiencies and report them to the Project Manager.
- Protect unaffected areas, flooring, furniture and customer belongings during work.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area throughout the project.

Customer Service & Professionalism

- Work professionally and respectfully in customers' homes and businesses.
- Communicate clearly with customers and team members when required.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Treat customer property with care and respect.
- Represent the company in a professional manner at all times.

Experience

- Minimum 5 years of drywall finishing experience, preferably in residential construction or restoration.
- Proven experience in drywall finishing or related construction roles
- Knowledge of construction painting, carpentry, caulking, and handyman skills is highly desirable

Preferred Assets

- Previous water/fire restoration experience
- IICRC training or certification
- Experience matching difficult or specialty textures
- Experience working from restoration scopes and estimates

Quality matters. In restoration, the goal isn't simply to repair the damaged area—it is to make the repair look like it was never there. Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
