Job Overview In this role, you’ll support children through daily routines, play-based learning, indoor and outdoor activities, early literacy and numeracy, social skill development, and positive behaviour guidance. You will work closely with children, families, Elders, volunteers, and team members to create a safe, inclusive, and culturally grounded childcare workplace. Some key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

Duties

- · Provide a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment that supports the growth and well-being of children ages 0-6.

· Deliver engaging, play-based learning experiences that promote early literacy, numeracy, social, emotional, and physical development. · Support children's daily routines, transitions, and self-help skills while fostering independence and confidence.

· Incorporate Indigenous culture, language, traditions, and teachings into daily programming and learning activities.

· Participate in cultural events, ceremonies, and community activities that strengthen children's connection to culture and community.

· Support children's health and well-being through healthy routines, nutrition, hygiene practices, and responsive care.

· Build positive, respectful relationships with children, families, Elders, and community members.

· Communicate effectively with families regarding children's development, progress, and well-being.

· Maintain a clean, safe,



and licensed childcare environment while following all health, safety, and regulatory requirements.

· Collaborate with colleagues in a team-based environment to deliver high-quality early learning and childcare programming.

Skills

- · A valid ECE license to practice in BC

· Current Emergency Child Care First Aid with CPR Level B · A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector screening

· An up-to-date immunization record, including TB test if required

· Previous childcare experience, preferably in a childcare facility

· Experience working with Indigenous children, families, and/or communities is considered an asset

· Knowledge of child development, Indigenous cultures, languages, traditions, and history
