Ecommerce and Marketing Specialist

McHardy Vacuum Ltd. is a Canadian retailer and e-commerce company serving customers since 1946. We operate retail stores in London, Ontario and sell across Canada through our online stores. We are also the Canadian distributor for Austin Air purifiers and run their Canadian website and dealer network.

We are looking for an experienced E-commerce and Digital Marketing Specialist to help manage and grow our online business.

This is a hands-on role combining website management, digital marketing and online customer service.

Responsibilities

- Manage and update our e-commerce websites, including products, pricing, images, descriptions, promotions and landing pages.
- Improve website merchandising, navigation and the overall online customer experience.
- Create and send regular email marketing campaigns for promotions, product launches and seasonal events.
- Coordinate social media content with our outside marketing agency and create additional timely posts when needed.
- Respond to online customer inquiries by email and phone, including order status, product questions, shipping issues, returns and warranty inquiries.
- Assist with new product launches and online promotions.
- Write and improve product descriptions and other website content.




- Handle basic SEO tasks such as page titles, descriptions, internal linking and monitoring Google Search Console.
- Review website, email and sales performance and identify opportunities to increase online revenue.
- Coordinate with outside developers or marketing partners when required.

What we're looking for

- Experience working in e-commerce or digital marketing.
- Experience with Shopify, BigCommerce or similar platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable dealing directly with customers by phone and email.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities.
- Able to work independently and take ownership of projects.
- Experience with email marketing, social media and website content.
- Familiarity with Google Analytics and Google Search Console.

Experience with Brightpearl, Mailchimp, basic HTML or managing a large online product catalogue would be an asset. We're looking for someone who doesn't simply wait for a list of tasks.
