Certified Teacher – Education Director
Location: MITT ALC St Norbert Campus
Days/Hours: Monday to Friday, variable hours, 1.0 FTE
MITT is hiring a 1.0 Full-time Certified Teacher - Education Director to serve all MITT's ALCs. Click here to learn more about MITT’s Adult Learning Centres.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide leadership and oversight for teachers, administrative staff, and daily operations of the Adult Learning Centres.
- Hire, supervise, orient, support and evaluate staff in collaboration with MITT.
- Lead educational programming, including curriculum oversight, learner supports, course planning, academic appeals, and student recordkeeping.
- Teach assigned courses and create a safe, effective, and supportive adult learning environment.
- Support student registration, transcript assessment, learner placement, academic counselling, and educational planning.
- Administer staff and student policies.
- Address complaints, conflict resolution matters.
- Prepare and manage annual budgets, financial reports, cash flow projections, invoices, deposits, and operating expenses.
- Coordinates marketing, recruitment, applicant orientation, student registration, and advertising activities.
- Lead planning and reporting activities, including education plans, financial plans, government reporting and renewal submissions.
- Manage facilities, leases, equipment, security, supplies, fire safety compliance and operational maintenance.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate.
- Previous Grade 11/12 English teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Experience teaching in a blended learning setting.
- Experience with Brightspace Learning Management System.
- Experience teaching in an adult setting.
Salary is in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
An eligibility list may be created for similar positions. Developmental opportunities may be available for candidates who do not meet all of the requirements of the position.
