AECOM's Buildings + Places business line is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our growing multidisciplinary team in Calgary, Alberta. This position will support the delivery of complex building and infrastructure projects across Western Canada, working alongside architects, engineers, planners, and project managers to develop innovative and sustainable solutions for public and private sector clients.
B+P Canada is a vibrant and growing fully integrated team spanning architecture, all the building's engineering disciplines, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, economics and asset management for design and infrastructure projects. Project assignments may include, although not limited to: Transit and Municipal, Commercial, and Institutional projects, Justice, Education and Government.
You will support projects across Water & Wastewater, Transportation, Buildings, and Sustainability sectors, including renewable energy (PV) and electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure.
You will work under moderate supervision and contribute to a variety of engineering design and analysis tasks while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams.
Perform electrical analyses, calculations, and routine tests in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Assist in preparing technical specifications, design drawings, memos, and reports.
Identify discrepancies in results and propose solutions using sound engineering judgment.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to fulfill project scope, budget, and timeline.
Conduct site visits, inspections, and assessments to evaluate the electrical conditions and provide recommendations.
Provide technical or operational guidance to less experienced engineers, EIT’s and technicians.
Stay updated on industry codes, regulations, and best practices to ensure high-quality design solutions.
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering + four (4) years of relevant professional experience
Experience in sectors such as Water & Wastewater, Transportation, Buildings, and Sustainability (PV and EV systems).
AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM, or similar.
Solid Knowledge of power systems: MV/LV distribution, lighting, controls, renewable energy systems.
Proficiency with engineering calculations and preparing technical documentation.
Good written and verbal communication skills (English proficiency essential).
Relocation is not available for this position.
