Focus Systems is seeking an experienced Enterprise Data Warehouse Architect - Level 2 to support the modernization of an enterprise data ecosystem and implementation of a Microsoft Fabric-based data platform within a public insurance Crown corporation.

Role Overview The Enterprise Data Warehouse Architect - Level 2 will provide enterprise-level data architecture leadership to support the transition from the current data landscape to a modern, governed, and scalable data platform centered on Microsoft Fabric. The successful candidate will assess existing architectures, models, integrations, and data flows; define target- and transition-state designs; develop modernization roadmaps and standards; and provide practical implementation guidance across business and technology teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess current-state data architectures, data models, integrations, and data flows
- Define target-state and transition-state data architectures aligned with business and technology strategies and industry best practices
- Develop architecture roadmaps supporting migration to Microsoft Fabric and modern data platform capabilities
- Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models
- Design and document end-to-end data flows, integration patterns, and data lifecycle processes
- Analyze existing systems and identify opportunities for rationalization, modernization, and improved data quality
- Collaborate with Data and Systems Architects, Enterprise Architects, Product Managers, delivery teams, and business stakeholders




- Establish standards, principles, and best practices for data architecture, modelling, and governance
- Provide architecture guidance, reviews, and recommendations to implementation teams
- Evaluate and recommend approaches for data integration, reporting, analytics, and information management
- Contribute to the evolution of enterprise data architecture and governance practices
- Lead data transformation and engineering direction across projects, departments, and divisions

Qualifications & Experience

- 10+ years of experience in data architecture
- Demonstrated experience defining current-state, transition-state, and target-state data architectures and modernization roadmaps
- Hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, medallion architecture, and analytics capabilities
- Experience with cloud-based data modernization
- Expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling
- Experience designing data integration, transformation, and end-to-end data flows
- Experience with architecture and data modelling tools, preferably Sparx Enterprise Architect
- Experience with business or enterprise architecture
- Experience with data governance, metadata management, and master data management
- Experience with Power BI and enterprise analytics
- Experience with TOGAF or another enterprise architecture framework
