Role Overview

Great Pyramid Aluminum is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial glass and aluminum projects, including glazing systems, aluminum framing, curtain wall, storefronts, windows, doors, entrances, and related systems.

You will review architectural drawings, specifications, tender documents, and project requirements to determine material, labour, fabrication, equipment, and installation costs. You will work closely with suppliers, project managers, production teams, and management to ensure bids are accurate, competitive, and profitable.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Review architectural drawings, specifications, shop drawings, tender documents, and addenda to determine project scope.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for glass, glazing, aluminum framing, curtain wall, storefronts, windows, doors, entrances, hardware, and related systems.
- Perform accurate material and labour take-offs.
- Obtain and review supplier and subcontractor quotations and confirm material pricing, lead times, and availability.
- Calculate fabrication, installation, equipment, labour, and other project-related costs.
- Identify scope gaps, exclusions, technical challenges, and potential cost risks before bid submission.
- Prepare complete bid packages with pricing breakdowns, clarifications, exclusions, and supporting documentation.
- Communicate with general contractors, suppliers, architects, project managers, and internal teams throughout the tender process.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, supplier quotations, pricing history, and completed bids.




- Assist with project handover after successful bids to ensure the estimated scope and pricing are clearly communicated to the project team.
- Review actual project costs and completed work to improve the accuracy of future estimates.

What You Bring to the Table
- Previous estimating experience in the glass, glazing, aluminum, curtain wall, window and door, or related building-envelope industry .
- Strong knowledge of commercial glass and aluminum systems.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Experience preparing detailed material and labour take-offs.
- Knowledge of glass types, aluminum framing systems, curtain wall, storefronts, hardware, sealants, windows, doors, and entrances.
- Proficiency with estimating software, digital take-off tools, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of both fabrication and field installation requirements.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
