Overview

PaintTek is a premier commercial and industrial painting company experiencing rapid growth! We are seeking experienced Commercial and Industrial Painters to join our dynamic team and bring expert craftsmanship to a variety of large-scale projects throughout Ontario. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, including new construction, commercial renovations, retail stores, offices, industrial facilities, and restoration projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Surface Preparation: Clean, sand, caulk, scrape, and apply primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion and flawless finish quality.
- Coating Application: Apply paint, stains, sealants, and industrial coatings using hand tools (brushes, rollers)



and power tools (airless sprayers) across various surfaces including walls, ceilings, steel structures, and industrial equipment.
- Drywall & Restoration: Perform drywall repairs, taping, plastering, and restoration work as needed to maintain surface integrity before painting.
- Blueprint Execution: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute painting projects according to exact specifications.
- Equipment & Rigging: Safely and efficiently operate construction equipment such as scaffolding, ladders, and lifts. Use proper rigging techniques to safely access elevated or hard-to-reach areas.
- Site Management: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by properly handling waste materials, tools, and equipment throughout each project phase.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and team members to ensure project timelines are met while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.

Job Requirements & Experience

- Experience: 2+ years of professional painting experience preferred, with a strong focus on commercial or industrial construction sites and restoration projects. (Residential experience is an asset, but industrial background is highly preferred).
- Certifications: Valid Ontario safety certificates are an asset (such as Working at Heights, WHMIS, and Aerial Platform / Scissor Lift). Note: If you do not currently hold these certificates,



PaintTek will provide and pay for your training.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of construction painting techniques, drywall installation/repair, and surface preparation processes.
- Blueprint Literacy: Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Transportation: Valid driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle are a MUST HAVE. You must be able to get yourself to and from various job sites independently.
- Tools: Must own standard professional painting hand tools.
- Communication: Clear English communication skills for reading job instructions, adhering to safety protocols, and collaborating effectively with supervisors, team members, and clients.
- Technology: Smartphone required for daily scheduling and company communication.
- Work Ethic: Reliable, punctual, excellent time management skills, and highly capable of working safely with minimal supervision.
- Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and willing to undergo a standard criminal background check.
