Job Overview
We’re looking for a motivated Farm Worker to join our team! In this role, you will be hands-on with planting, harvesting, and maintaining crops, as well as operating various farm machinery and tools. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys outdoor work, has a strong work ethic, and wants to be part of a dynamic agricultural workplace.
Responsibilities
- Apply fertilizers
- Cut agricultural crops
- Divide fresh harvested produce into marketable lots and non-marketable lots
- Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to the size, shape, colour and volume to fetch high price in market.
- Guide growing shoots into optimal development positions
- Hand harvesting vegetables
- Pack fruits and vegetables
- Pick row and orchard crops
- Plant, cultivate and irrigate crops
- Remove manually all suckers and water sprouts
- Sort fruits and vegetables
- Train trees to produce more fruit of higher quality
- Weeding
- Write daily basic progress reports
- Clean work area
- Fertilize and spray crops
- Harvest crops
- Load, unload and transfer crates, supplies and farm produce, livestock and poultry
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
- Detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock and poultry
- Examine product for quality and its readiness for the market
Experience
- Basic mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery and equipment operation.
- Familiarity with irrigation systems and horticultural practices is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate power tools confidently.
- Prior experience working outdoors or on a farm is beneficial but not mandatory; willingness to learn is key.
- Good basic math skills for measuring inputs and managing inventory.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to follow instructions carefully in a fast-paced environment.
