Hines Health Services is seeking a motivated, analytical and detail-oriented professional who brings a positive, solutions-focused mindset, demonstrates integrity and accountability, and contributes to a respectful, collaborative and high-performing workplace culture. Finance and Accounting Analyst to support our Finance team on a three-month contract. This chance is well suited to a recent university graduate or senior-level business student seeking meaningful, hands-on experience across finance, accounting and business operations.

The successful candidate will support daily accounting activities while contributing to reconciliations, financial reporting, month-end processes, data analysis, internal controls and process improvement initiatives. This position requires a high degree of accuracy, initiative, professionalism and confidentiality. The successful candidate must be available to work onsite in Fort McMurray for the duration of the contract.

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Contract Duration: Three months

Compensation: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour, based on education and relevant experience

Key Responsibilities:

- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities,



including invoice review, coding, data entry, billing documentation and account follow-up.
- Review vendor invoices and supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness and appropriate authorization.
- Assist with bank, credit card, vendor and general ledger reconciliations.
- Investigate discrepancies and work with appropriate team members to resolve incomplete or inconsistent financial information.
- Support month-end accounting activities, including the preparation of schedules, journal entry documentation and financial reports.
- Organize and analyze financial data to identify variances, errors, trends and areas requiring follow-up.
- Maintain accurate, complete and audit-ready financial records.
- Assist with employee expense documentation, vendor records and payment administration.
- Support budgeting, financial reporting and special finance projects as assigned.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of finance procedures, templates, internal controls and administrative workflows.
- Protect confidential financial, employee, client and organizational information.
- Provide additional support to the Finance team based on operational priorities.

Qualifications:

- University graduate preferred, ideally with a Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Business Administration or equivalent degree with a major or concentration in Finance or Accounting.
- Senior-level university students nearing completion of a relevant business degree may also be considered.
- Recent graduates and early-career finance or accounting professionals are encouraged to apply.
- Relevant co-op, internship, bookkeeping, accounting or financial administration experience is considered an asset.
- Foundational understanding of accounting principles, accounts payable,



accounts receivable and financial reconciliations.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills are preferred, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables and financial data organization.
- Experience with accounting software, enterprise resource planning systems or financial reporting platforms is considered an asset.
- Interest in pursuing a CPA designation is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet established deadlines.
- Demonstrated initiative, accountability and willingness to learn.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the Finance team and other departments.
- Professional judgment and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Must be available to work onsite in Fort McMurray, Alberta, for the duration of the contract.
