About Us Van Belle Flowers has been part of Durham Region since 1961. We design fresh, seasonal arrangements for everyday moments and for the big ones — weddings, sympathy, celebrations — and we deliver across the region from our Bowmanville and Whitby shops.
Our Whitby location has just been renovated, and we're looking for someone to take care of it — and the customers who come through it — five days a week.
The Role
You'll be running our Whitby shop day to day. That means helping customers choose and place orders — in person, over the phone, and online — wrapping and building bouquets, and handling the occasional on-demand arrangement for someone who walks in needing something now.
Most of the design work happens elsewhere — our market bouquets and all arrangements for delivery and pickup are made centrally and arrive daily. Your job is to receive that product, keep it looking its best on the floor and in the cooler, and get it into the right hands.
You'll be on your own in the shop, so you'll have real ownership over how it runs and how it looks.
Schedule
Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00am–5:00pm. Availability across all five days is required.
What You Bring
- Minimum 2 years of floral design experience
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfort with POS systems (Shopify is a plus)
- A positive, friendly attitude
- Comfortable working alone
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
