We are seeking a dedicated Florist Assistant and Floral Prepping Specialist to join our team. This role involves assisting with floral arrangements, preparing flowers for display and sale, and supporting the overall operations of our floral shop. The ideal candidate will have a passion for flowers, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.
Duties
- Assist with floral arrangement creation and floral design preparations
- Prepare flowers by trimming, conditioning, and arranging them for display or delivery
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of floral workstations and storage areas
- Support merchandising efforts by setting up displays and ensuring product presentation is attractive
- Handle POS transactions, including cash handling and processing sales accurately
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with floral selections and inquiries
- Support landscape maintenance tasks as needed, including plant care and garden upkeep
- Manage inventory levels of flowers, supplies, and floral accessories
- Assist with e-commerce orders and online sales fulfillment when required
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth shop operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service is preferred
- Knowledge of horticulture, gardening, or landscape maintenance is a plus
- Multilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse customers
- Robust organizational skills with attention to detail in floral prep work and merchandising
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and retail sales procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
- Passion for flowers, gardening, or horticulture is highly desirable
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting flowers or supplies
