Lead the delivery of a confidential national industry conferenceCreative Event Solutions Group (CESG) is seeking an experienced Freelance Conference Director to join our senior delivery team for a major Canadian industry conference planned for 2027.

This is a proposal-stage chance. The successful candidate will support our bid development immediately and, if awarded, lead conference delivery from planning through execution as a contracted member of the CESG team.

We're looking for someone with deep experience in large multi-day conferences, exhibitions, association events, and structured business networking programs—someone who can confidently lead operations while collaborating with our Executive Producer and creative team.

We produce sophisticated, high-impact events for leading corporate and institutional clients across Canada.

ResponsibilitiesAs Conference Director, you will:

- Lead operational planning for a large multi-day conference
- Develop and manage the master conference production timeline
- Oversee conference programming, plenary sessions, breakouts, and speaker logistics
- Lead exhibitor and tradeshow operational planning




- Develop structured B2B / hosted-buyer meeting operations
- Collaborate on registration and event technology implementation
- Coordinate venue, AV, catering, and production partners
- Build staffing plans and oversee on-site conference execution
- Serve as the senior operational lead throughout the event

QualificationsWe're looking for someone who has personally led:
- Multi-day conferences with 700+ attendees
- Association or industry conferences
- Exhibitions or trade shows with significant exhibitor participation
- Multi-stream conference programming and speaker management
- Registration platforms and conference technology
- Complex vendor and venue operations

Highly valued experience:

- Hosted-buyer or structured B2B matchmaking programs
- Convention centre or large hotel conference environments
- National conferences with multiple stakeholder groups

Engagement
- Type: Independent Contractor / Freelance
- Timeline: Proposal support immediately; planning and delivery through 2027 if awarded
- Location: Primarily Toronto/GTA with hybrid remote work
- Compensation: Competitive contract rate based on experience
