About The Role We are seeking an experienced Front-End Engineer to join our team responsible for the Amazon Route 53 Console, one of the most heavily used sections of the AWS Management Console. In this role, you will develop and maintain secure, intuitive, and responsive frontend interfaces for DNS management, ensuring high availability, security, and user satisfaction.
You will collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, security architects, and backend engineers to deliver innovative solutions that meet evolving customer needs. Your expertise will help safeguard our DNS services against security threats such as cache poisoning and zone transfers, while creating a seamless experience across various devices and platforms. This position offers the chance to work in a dynamic, inclusive environment that values technical excellence, mentorship, and continuous learning.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional experience in front-end web development using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- 4+ years of experience with computer science fundamentals including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving
- Proficiency in front-end frameworks and technologies such as React and TypeScript
- Experience with building reusable UI components and libraries
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and implementing security controls in web applications
- Understanding of DNS security threats and mitigation techniques
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug and resolve frontend security issues
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain secure and user-friendly frontend interfaces for Route 53 DNS management console using React and TypeScript
- Implement security controls to prevent misconfigurations and vulnerabilities in DNS configuration interfaces
- Create intuitive UI components for managing DNS records, health checks, and traffic policies
- Collaborate with security teams to incorporate safeguards against DNS-related security threats such as cache poisoning and zone transfers
- Design responsive interfaces that maintain security integrity across various device types
- Integrate frontend applications with Route 53 APIs following best security practices
- Ensure proper input validation and error handling for DNS record operations
- Participate in security reviews and contribute to incident response efforts for DNS security events
- Write automated tests to validate security features and frontend functionality
- Document security measures and frontend features for internal and external stakeholders
- Stay updated on DNS security threats and emerging mitigation techniques
