General Labourer - Potato Storages

About The Role. Valley Farms is currently looking for General Labourers to join the team in Grand Falls for the harvest season. This temporary, full-time role supports the safe and timely receiving and storage of potatoes in a fast-paced team environment.

What You’ll Be Doing.

- Follow all safety requirements, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Critical Control Points (CCPs).
- Inspect potatoes entering storage and remove rocks, debris, and other foreign material from incoming loads.
- Sort and rack potatoes and support the timely receiving and storage process.
- Handle materials and safely lift up to 50 lbs as required.
- Clean and prepare potato storage buildings, equipment areas, and work areas.
- Place culverts in potato storages for ventilation and assist in directing farm trucks during unloading.
- Assist with light maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustment of equipment and storage facilities.
- Collect potato samples and record quality information as required.
- Work indoors and outdoors, including in changing weather conditions, and complete additional duties as assigned.
- Work varying hours, including long days and weekends, based on weather and harvest requirements.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful.

- Grade 12 education or GED preferred.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced agricultural environment.
- Team-oriented attitude with excellent attendance and the ability to work well with supervision and coworkers.
- Highly motivated and observant, with good initiative and a positive attitude.
- Ability to adapt to changing operational and weather conditions.
- Self-motivated and able to complete assignments with minimal supervision.
- Willingness and ability to work long hours and weekends during peak harvest periods.




- Good verbal communication skills and a strong commitment to maintaining a safety-first workplace.

Compensation Package: Starting at $21.49 CAD hourly. The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting.
