This posting is for a real, currently open vacancy. Artificial intelligence is not used to screen, assess, or select applicants.

About us. We are an Ontario hazardous and regulated waste company operating licensed transfer, processing, and treatment operations under MECP Environmental Compliance Approvals. We are in an active growth phase, including build-out and commissioning of a new owned processing facility in Hamilton alongside established Burlington operations.

The role. Full operational command of our Ontario facilities and complete ownership of the EH&S; function, reporting directly to the leaderhsip team. Facility management, logistics, dispatch, drivers, warehouse, and processing report to you. This is a build-and-fix mandate: you are being hired to bring a quick-growing operation to a standard of regulatory and housekeeping discipline that withstands an unannounced inspection on any day.

You will own: P&L; accountability across two sites; daily direction of facility managers, dispatch, drivers, warehouse, and processing; throughput, backlog elimination, and inventory aging; staffing, scheduling, cross-training, and turnover reduction

- Hamilton commissioning and operational start-up; fleet, maintenance, and capital planning.

On compliance: the Ontario Fire Code (O. Reg. 213/07) and FPPA including egress, fire separations, and flammable storage; the EPA and Reg. 347 including manifesting, registration, and all ECA conditions

- OHSA, TDG, and WHMIS; municipal zoning and outside-storage restrictions; all relationships with fire services, bylaw, MECP, MOL; emergency and spill response, incident investigation,

and corrective-action closure
- JHSC chairmanship; 5S housekeeping standards, measured weekly
- CVOR and MTO driver compliance. You will deliver a weekly scorecard to ownership covering turnover, headcount vs. plan, backlog tonnage and aging, housekeeping audit score, open compliance items with owners and due dates, and incident and near-miss counts.

Required: 8+ years progressive operational leadership in hazardous or regulated waste, chemical, industrial services, or heavy manufacturing, including 3+ years leading managers or supervisors. Demonstrated personal accountability for a permitted or licensed site — you have hosted inspections and closed out orders yourself. Working command of the Ontario Fire Code, OHSA, TDG, and EPA/Reg. 347.

Proven record reducing turnover in an industrial workforce. Post-secondary education in engineering, environmental science, chemistry, OHS, or business, or equivalent demonstrated experience.

Valid

Ontario driver’s licence and daily availability across both sites.

Preferred: CRSP designation (CRST, CHSC, or equivalent OHS credential considered); direct ECA operating experience; new-facility commissioning; CVOR/fleet compliance; Lean, 5S, ISO 14001 or 45001.

Application. Submit a résumé and a brief cover letter describing the largest regulated operation you have directly managed, and one serious safety or regulatory deficiency you inherited and how you closed it.

We provide accommodation throughout recruitment on request under the Ontario Human Rights Code. All interviewed applicants will be informed of the outcome within 45 days of their final interview.
