Role Description The Greenhouse Floral Head Grower is a full-time, on-site role based in Surrey, BC, responsible for overseeing the production of floral crops and greenhouse plants from propagation through harvest and shipping. This role manages crop planning and scheduling, monitors plant health, and implements best practices for fertilization, irrigation, pest and disease control, and climate management.

The Head

Grower collaborates with operations, sales, and logistics teams to ensure quality standards, on-time availability, and alignment with customer demand. Day-to-day tasks include supervising and training greenhouse staff, maintaining accurate production records, coordinating with vendors for supplies,



and continuously improving growing processes and workflow efficiency. The role also involves maintaining safety and regulatory compliance in the greenhouse setting and supporting new product trials and innovation.

Qualifications

- Strong greenhouse growing expertise, including experience with flowering plants, annuals, perennials, and potted crops.
- Knowledge of plant physiology and horticultural practices, including propagation, pruning, fertilization, irrigation, and soil or media management.
- Experience with integrated pest management (IPM), disease prevention, and greenhouse climate control systems.
- Ability to plan and manage crop schedules, production forecasts, and quality standards to meet wholesale and retail demand.
- Leadership and team management skills, with experience training, coaching, and supervising greenhouse staff.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement.
- Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with operations, sales, logistics, and suppliers.
- Comfort working in a physically active, greenhouse environment, including standing, lifting, and working in varied weather conditions.
- Post-secondary education in horticulture, plant science, agronomy, or a related field is an asset; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
- Previous experience as a head grower or senior grower in commercial greenhouse or nursery operations is strongly preferred.
