Position Purpose and Summary The Great Wall MBA Program Coordinator & Learning Coach (hereafter “Great Wall MBA Program Coordinator”) will work from China, providing academic and administrative support for TWU faculty and Great Wall MBA students, and in Great Wall MBA student recruitment.
- Provide orientation to MBA students. Provide ongoing learning support to students and teaching support to TWU faculty, ensuring GW MBA students effectively achieve course learning outcomes.
- Support the GW MBA Program Manager, Associate Director of Operations and Student Support, and Associate Dean in Graduate Studies at TWU’s School of Business in monitoring and managing the GW MBA program by 1) representing TWU and its MBA Program in the day-to-day operations of the Great Wall Program in China, 2) assuring quality in academic and administrative areas, and 3) providing support in the recruiting, interviewing, and testing written English skills of MBA applicants.
- Liaison with our MBA Great Wall students, alumni and partners.
Start day: September 1, 2025 until December 31 2026, with the possibility of becoming a continuous position
Key Areas of Accountability
- Liaison Function
- Coordinate with the TWU MBA management team, TWU MBA faculty, the TUFE (Tianjin University of Finance and Economics) Great Wall MBA Director and program staff, and all program faculty, in order to set up course schedules, manage student and parent concerns and questions on behalf of TWU, and provide documents to TWU and TUFE, as necessary, to support the effective management of the program, including TUFE's efforts to promote and recruit students for the Great Wall MBA program.
- Work with TUFE to ensure that all application files are complete and authenticated, and then forwarded to TWU Enrolment Management and TWU Associate Dean in Graduate Studies in a timely manner.
- Coordinate and make arrangements with TUFE for TWU’s MBA Director to conduct admission interviews with Excellent Wall MBA applicants, with full consideration of the TWU Associate Dean in Graduate Studies’ schedule; proctor English proficiency admissions tests during interview days.
- Build and maintain the Great Wall students and alumni network platform and hold events.
- Maintain relationship with local business communities.
- Support Function
- Manage all cultural and linguistic (acculturation) challenges between TWU and TUFE as the program develops.
- Assist with all travel arrangements for both the TWU Associate Dean in Graduate Studies and the TWU faculty who teach in the program.
- Support TWU faculty as necessary to ensure that each course functions effectively, freeing TWU faculty to focus on providing high quality education in China. This includes cultural sensitivity assistance as well as administrative support.
- Sit in on classes as TWU' s representative to monitor the students' attendance and classroom experience, and to provide learning assistance for all students in the Great Wall Program.
- Deliver tutorial sessions throughout each TWU course in both Mandarin and English, ensuring GW MBA students effectively achieve course learning outcomes.
- Coordinate with TWU Writing Center to provide Wednesday workshop topics according to related course and APA Orientaion to new cohorts.
- Counsel/advise current students with any program-related issues, liaising with parents as needed.
- Coordinate with TUFE on MBA launch events and graduation ceremonies.
- Monitoring Function
- Regularly monitor the program on behalf of TWU and provide timely updates directly to the TWU Associate Dean in Graduate Studies.
- Upon conclusion of each course delivered in the program, administer a standardized course evaluation to send to the MBA Director.
- Promotion Function
- Assist with efforts to promote and recruit students for the GW MBA program, as necessary, including advising prospective students.
- Attend and/or arrange events for GW MBA recruitment.
- MBA Recruitment Function
- Provide support for Great Wall MBA programs recruitment efforts in Tianjin, Shanghai, and Beijing, including administrating interviews and written English language skills testing.

Job Standards and Requirements
Education : Bachelor degree taken in North America (business degree taken from TWU preferred); MBA or equivalent preferred
Experience
- 2-3 years in an organizational setting
- Proven ability to coordinate activities and communicate effectively between partners in a project or program
Knowledge And Skills
- Fluent speaker and writer in both English and Mandarin
- Cross-cultural sensitivity and adaptability
- Understanding of North American higher education standards
- Concern for good process
- Strong aptitude in diplomatic communication.
- Proven record of organizational effectiveness
- Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment and sensitivity working with complex issues (preferably across cultures)
