Professional Baking & Pastry Experience Required for this position

Kerr Street Cafe is looking for a Baker/Pastry Chef to join our expanding team. We're a trendy cafe in the heart of Oakville's Kerr Village, serving brunch for over 15 years and catering the GTA/Muskoka for over 20 years.

Kerr Street Cafe, Dont let the name fool you. We are a 60 seat restaurant thats fast pace.

We're looking to hire a Head baker/pastry chef to join our growing team, someone that specializes in making pastries, breads, squares, tarts, pies, etc. A positive candidate is someone with experience and knowledge in there craft but also looking to grow their skills and help us create an awesome pastry program for the restaurant, catering and our NEW retail spot located right beside Kerr Street Cafe.

Some of the duties and responsibilities will be as follows:

- baking fresh scones, muffin, bread, pastries, loaves as well as custom creations in the mornings before cafe opens
- mini pastries, platers and specialty desserts for catering all events
- maintaining restaurant dessert menu.



Focusing on seasonal produce and availability.
- creating and planning specials for catering and the cafe. Weekly meetings with executive chef to plan and organize future menu items and weekly specials
- maintaining a clean work environment, positive attitude, communicating well with other staff members and customers when in the shops

Professional baking experience or pastry chef experience is a must. Must be ok to work early morning shifts and weekends.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
