What You'll Do
As a Health & Safety Advisor, you'll work closely with operations, project teams, and field employees to promote a strong safety culture across our business.
Key responsibilities include
- Supporting the implementation of health and safety programs, policies, and procedures
- Conducting site inspections and workplace audits
- Assisting with hazard assessments and risk mitigation plans
- Participating in incident investigations and corrective action tracking
- Supporting employee safety training and orientation programs
- Monitoring compliance with provincial and federal health and safety legislation
- Maintaining safety documentation, records, and reporting
- Collaborating with field leaders to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Promoting employee engagement in safety initiatives and campaigns
What We're Looking For We're interested in recent graduates who are ready to learn, contribute, and grow.
Education
- Diploma or Degree in: Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Construction Management and or a related discipline.
Qualifications
- Recent graduate (0-2 years of experience)
- Robust interest in workplace health and safety
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Ability to build relationships with employees at all levels
- Comfortable working in both office and field environments
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Preferred Certifications
- CRSP designation in progress or interest in pursuing
- Joint Health & Safety Committee Certification
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- Working at Heights training (considered an asset)
The expected salary range for this role is between $55,000 - $70,000 per year. The starting salary will be determined based on several factors such as the successful candidate’s qualifications, including but not limited to education, experience and mobility. Base pay is one component of Black & McDonald’s total rewards package. Total rewards vary by position and may include additional offerings such as group insurance benefits, pension plan, annual discretionary bonus, career development programs, and other HR programs.
