Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled, reliable, and motivated Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and maintaining a wide range of semi-trucks and trailers. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, good diagnostic abilities, and experience working in a heavy duty repair environment.

Duties

- Perform inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, air brake, and suspension systems.
- Perform brake, wheel-end, steering, and suspension repairs.
- Diagnose engine and aftertreatment system concerns.
- Use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, and specialized shop equipment.
- Perform welding and fabrication repairs when required.
- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed.
- Work effectively with other mechanics, service staff, and management.




- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with applicable safety standards and shop procedures.

Skills & Qualifications

- Strong mechanical knowledge and experience with heavy duty trucks and trailers.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and air system faults.
- Experience using diagnostic software and testing equipment is an asset.
- Welding and fabrication experience is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Reliable, organized, and able to work efficiently in a busy repair shop workplace.
- Heavy Equipment Technician/Truck and Transport Mechanic certification or apprenticeship experience is an asset.

Pay: $23.00-$40.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
