About the Position
We are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team, 7 Months in Shop, 5 months remote in camp. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of heavy equipment and mobile machinery in a remote operating environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled mechanic who is comfortable working independently, takes pride in quality workmanship, and understands the importance of safety and reliability in a remote setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy-duty equipment and machinery.
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections.
- Identify mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and other equipment-related issues.
- Complete repairs efficiently while minimizing equipment downtime.
- Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
- Inspect equipment to identify potential problems before they result in breakdowns.
- Perform field repairs and emergency maintenance as required.
- Follow manufacturer specifications and company maintenance procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Work closely with operators, supervisors, and other maintenance personnel.
- Follow all company, site, and regulatory health and safety requirements.
- Participate in toolbox meetings, safety meetings, and site procedures.
- Assist with other maintenance duties as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Journeyperson Heavy Duty Equipment Technician/Mechanic certification is preferred.
- Red Seal certification is considered an asset.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and drivetrains.
- Ability to read and understand service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in physically demanding conditions.
- Previous remote, camp, mining, oil & gas, construction, forestry, or industrial experience is considered an asset.

Job Type: Seasonal Pay: $450.00-$550.00 per day
