English Tutor – High SchoolMathWorld Tutoring is looking for a knowledgeable, reliable, and engaging High School English Tutor to join our tutoring team.

The successful candidate will work with students in Grades 8–12, helping them strengthen their English skills, improve their academic performance, and develop confidence in reading, writing, and literary analysis.

Responsibilities:

- Tutor students in Grade 8–12 English following the BC Curriculum
- Support students with essay writing, paragraph structure, grammar, reading comprehension, literary analysis, and other course material
- Clearly explain concepts and provide constructive feedback on student work
- Help students prepare for assignments, assessments, and exams
- Adapt teaching methods to meet different student learning needs
- Maintain a professional, patient, and encouraging learning environment
- Communicate with MathWorld Tutoring regarding student progress when required

Qualifications:

- Robust knowledge of high-school English, particularly English 10–12
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of academic essay writing, grammar, literature,



and reading comprehension
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience is preferred
- Current university students and university graduates are welcome to apply
- Education or academic experience in English, Education, Humanities, or a related field is considered an asset
- Must be dependable, organized, and comfortable working with high-school students

Position Details:

- Part-time tutoring position
- Primarily online/hybrid
- Students are generally taught in small-group or individual settings
- Hours may vary depending on student enrollment and scheduling
- Evening and/or weekend availability may be required
