The Canadian Mental Health Association-Ottawa Branch (CMHA Ottawa) is an independent, community-based non-profit organization supporting individuals in the Ottawa area with severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorder, many of whom are experiencing chronic homelessness or are vulnerably housed. We are dedicated to promoting good mental health, developing and implementing sustainable support systems and services, and encouraging public action to strengthen community mental health services and related policies and legislation.

CMHA is recruiting for a current vacancy for the following position:

Housing Coordinator

Type of Position: Temporary Full time

Length of Term: Until October 31, 2027, with the possibility of extension

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm

Pay Rate: $39.4652 - $41.2695 (BSW) OR

$41.9579 - $43.8769 (MSW)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Under the direction of the Program Manager, Community Support Services, responsible for housing programs, the Housing Coordinator supports the delivery of CMHA’s housing programs. The incumbent will support client, landlords, CMHA staff and partners who are engaged with provincial and City housing programs. In addition, the Housing Coordinator assists with tenancy relations in CMHA owned condo properties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Completion of a university degree in Social Work (BSW) or equivalent such as a B.A. in Psychology or Criminology.

Experience: A minimum of three years recent relevant clinical work, in the judgment of the employer, with vulnerable individuals,



specifically people who have serious mental illness as well as individuals who are homeless, who have substance use disorders, and/or who have been in conflict with the law.

Professional Affiliation: Registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (Preferred).

Certifications: First Aid / CPR, ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) others as applicable

License and Vehicle: A valid class G driver’s license, vehicle, and proof of insurance

Language: English

Other: Legally able to work in Canada, able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check, and proof of academic achievement

Location: 311 McArthur Ave., work on-site and in the community
