OPPORTUNITY

We are hiring a Human Resources Coordinator to join our team. This full-time position is an opportunity to put your knowledge and technical skills to work on a variety of high value people related tasks in a unionized environment.

Under the direction of the Human Resources Training & Development Manager, the Human Resources Coordinator will provide day-to-day administrative duties for all Human Resources related activities. This position will support the HR department to ensure that HR processes such as hiring, payroll, onboarding & orientation, HRIS and record keeping, benefits administration, health & safety, MCCSS compliance tracking, training and labour relations) are running smoothly.

THE ROLE:

1. Records and Administration: Maintain physical and electronic employee files, update the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), process employee status changes and Employee Action Forms (EAF), prepare and update employee contracts, transfers letters, accommodation documentation and approved leaves records. Track and monitor work permits and expired contracts.

1. Events and Communication:



Help coordinate staff engagement activities, performance review schedules and assisting with HR communications.

1. Employee Support: Serve as the first point of contact for staff inquiries regarding company policies and procedures, advantages enrollment, payroll questions, employment verification requests, LMS support, and creating Tektonic tickets to suspend, activate or deactivate employee VITA accounts.

1. Compliance and Training: Track mandatory training records, monitor certifications or safety requirements, and assist with MCCSS audit preparations.

1. Labour Relations and Union: File and track grievance forms, taking detailed minutes of meetings, assist with scheduling investigation/grievance/outcome meetings.

1. Legal Support: Photocopy Lawyer Packages and prepares Invoices for Lawyers requests, compile and submit confidential employee documents/records to external legal counsels for advice and consultations.

1. Other projects and duties as assigned by HR Manager, HR Director and Chief HR Officer.

WHAT YOU BRING:

- Completed diploma/degree in Human Resources Management required.
- Working towards or in possession of the CHRP designation is an asset.
- Current member of the HRPA or related Provincial Body is an asset.
- Minimum of 2-years HR experience required.
- Minimum 1-year experience using an HRIS, experience with ADP an asset.
- Strong understanding of various employment related legislations (ESA, 2000, OH&SA;, Human Rights, WSIB and Labour Relations).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, advanced skills in Word and Excel.




- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle confidential information with diplomacy and tact.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Effective time management, organizational and presentation skills.
