Working closely with the Industrial teams in the organisation, the role supports the implementation of HR processes to ensure achievement of the business strategy. The role supports the People and Organization VP acting as the main HR focal point for the Industrial teams of the organisation by working with specialist functions for its own processes and ensuring the overall governance.

Aligns to the strategy to create a safe working environment and to ensure an adequate level of productivity and employee engagement supporting alignment on overhead budget and costs. The role ensures the proper execution of all the activities related to Industrial hiring, development, and training of resources, according to department needs and to People and Organization guidelines, and ensures all organisational activities that provide support to the development of the structure, according to Company guidelines and budget. The role is accountable for the execution of the employee relations processes and advises/supports the management when necessary with relation to the Industrial teams.

Business Partnering





Work closely with the factory manager and his/her direct reports to build a robust understanding of the supporting functions business and influence their achievement by supporting the people strategy. Lead the delivery of Company initiatives for salaried and hourly employees. Draw up workforce planning and its implementation, giving insight on appropriate time frames, targeted profiles, and any other relevant HR-related issues in partnership with the business and recruitment.

Contribute to and implement human resource policies and procedures and support the communication and application. Manage cost planning for both salaried and hourly employees.

Employee Relations

Advise and support managers within the Industrial teams with the resolution of employee relations activities and is actively involved where appropriate, including performance, redundancy consultation, absence, incidents/accidents, grievance, and disciplinary procedures. Manage relations and communication with internal employees’ representatives. Keep up to date with employment legislation and HR policies and support managers in their application.

Performance Management

Support the business in the development of performance management systems ensuring that they are up to date and communicated appropriately. Advise and coach regarding performance management issues, including capability, absence, and recognition. Ensure that reviews are carried out in relation to the performance management system and information reported on in order to assist in identifying performance issues.

Assist in the research, development, and implementation of pay awards, bonuses, or other recognition schemes. Run the hourly payroll and benefit management for both full time and temporary employees. Training and Development Identify learning and development needs in the functions in-scope to drive and improve business performance; Support existing learning and development initiatives.

Provide training and development for managers and employees on the line in all aspects of performance management. Together with managers, monitor the respect of Safety standards. Ensure proper documentation management.

Guarantee that any compulsory training on safety is timely and duly deployed.

Projects

Plan, carry out, and evaluate projects as identified as part of the HR strategy.



Contribute to others’ projects as required. Attend meetings to implement, deliver, or facilitate HR initiatives. Maintain awareness of HR team’s objectives and commitments. Offer support where needed and work with team members on specific projects and general workload.

Recruitment

Manage recruitment (in collaboration with the recruitment team) and hiring activities and internal/international mobility, to support line management in identifying candidates fitting with Company values and business needs for the Industrial teams. Partner with the business in identifying needs of temporary vs permanent resources. Lead and coordinate all office support activities.

Support and coordinate any programs people related, resulting from any H&S; / SMETA audit. 4–7 years of experience in a human resources role in an organisation which employs at least 200 employees, with preference for companies active in FMCG. ~ Previous experience within an Industrial or Maunfacturing environment. ~ Proven HR Management experience gained in a fast moving, commercially focused environment. Competent in Microsoft Office; Strong communication, coaching, and relationship management skills. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.

Master’s degree or HR professional certification preferred.

Bilingual

English and French preferred. Manufacturing/plant environment in Montreal, QC. Occasional extended hours during peak HR activity periods. Collaborative cross-functional environment interfacing with Plant Manager, Finance, H&S;, and Industrial Leadership Team.
