The Central Student Association (CSA) represents and serves undergraduate students at the University of Guelph. Through advocacy, services, events, student supports, and business operations, the CSA works to enhance student experience and strengthen campus life. We are seeking an organized, collaborative, and people-focused Human Resources Coordinator to support the employee experience and day-to-day human resources operations of the organization.

As a permanent staff member, the Human Resources Coordinator must uphold and support the CSA's Mandate and Approach and work towards the overall success of the CSA and the Team as we serve our members.

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the CSA’s human resources administration, recruitment, onboarding, employee training, workplace health and safety, and employee support programs. Working closely with the elected student Executive Team and Executive Director, the Human Resources Coordinator helps ensure the organization maintains a safe, inclusive, and positive workplace while supporting the unique needs of a student-led organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Human Resources Administration

- Coordinate day-to-day human resources operations and maintain accurate employee records.
- Support recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding processes for student and full-time staff.
- Coordinate employee orientation and onboarding programs.
- Maintain HR documentation, procedures, and organizational records while ensuring confidentiality.
- Lead the CSA’s Human Resources Support Team, coordinating HR processes and providing guidance to supervisors on the consistent application of workplace policies and procedures.

Employee Support & Development
- Serve as a resource for staff on human resources processes and workplace policies.
- Coordinate employee training and professional development initiatives.
- Support employee performance evaluation processes and reviews.
- Provide guidance and support to supervisors in employee performance management, workplace conflict resolution,



and progressive discipline processes.
- Coordinate and support workplace investigations and conflict resolution processes in collaboration with the Executive Director, ensuring matters are handled fairly, confidentially, and in accordance with organizational policies and employment legislation.
- Assist in fostering a respectful, inclusive, and positive workplace culture. Health, Safety & Compliance
- Coordinate workplace health and safety initiatives and support compliance with applicable employment and occupational health and safety legislation.
- Serve as Co-Chair of the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) and maintain (or obtain upon hire) Joint Health and Safety Committee Certification in accordance with Ontario legislation.
- Coordinate mandatory workplace training and maintain training records.
- Assist with workplace accommodations and accessibility initiatives.
- Work collaborative with the Executive Director and President to support legislative compliance and policy implementation.

Organizational Support
- Coordinate staff meetings, employee recognition initiatives, and team-building activities.
- Support organizational policy implementation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with administrative projects and other operational priorities as required.
- Prepare reports and documentation for leadership and committees as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate will possess:

- A university degree or college diploma in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
- Experience in human resources administration, recruitment, or employee relations.
- Knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and workplace health and safety requirements.




- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience working in a nonprofit, post-secondary, or student-focused environment is considered an asset.

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS

- Full-time, permanent position.
- Three-month probationary period.
- Compensation: $50,000 – 60,000
