Inclusion Support Worker (Independent Subcontractor)

Ancora Light Respite Inc. is seeking reliable, flexible, and committed Inclusion Support Workers to provide individualized support for children and youth in childcare, community, and respite settings.

Schedule

- Tuesday to Friday: 2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- PA Days: 7-hour shifts
- Additional shifts may become available based on client needs.

Position Overview Inclusion Support Workers provide individualized support to children and youth while working alongside educators, families, and community partners. Support may be provided in:

- Childcare centres
- Community programs and camps
- Community-based settings
- One-to-one (1:1) childcare support
- Classroom or group environments (as required)

Shifts are scheduled based on client needs and program demand. Workers are expected to attend and complete all confirmed shifts as scheduled.

Responsibilities

- Provide secure, respectful, and child-centred support.
- Follow individualized support plans, routines, and safety procedures.
- Support children's participation in daily activities, programs, and community outings.
- Provide 1:1 support based on each child's individual needs.




- Communicate professionally with families, educators, community partners, and Ancora Light Respite Inc.
- Arrive on time and maintain a high level of professionalism and reliability.
- Complete required documentation and communicate any concerns promptly.

Qualifications

- Minimum one (1) year of experience supporting children and/or youth in childcare, classroom, camp, community, or care-based settings.
- Experience supporting children with diverse needs is considered an asset.
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
- Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child and Youth Care (CYC/CYW), Developmental Services (DSW), Social Service Work (SSW), or a related field (completed or in progress).
- Reliable, organized, and able to work independently.
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
