About the Opportunity A practice with a significant Indigenous law group is seeking a lawyer to support Indigenous governments and organizations on governance, self-government, and institution-building matters.

Key Responsibilities

- Advise Indigenous governments and organizations on governance structures and self-government arrangements
- Draft constitutions, laws, policies, and governance agreements
- Support negotiations related to self-government and jurisdictional matters
- Build long-term relationships with Indigenous community clients
- Collaborate with colleagues across related practice areas (lands, resources, agreements)

Qualifications





- Called to the Bar in Ontario or British Columbia, in good standing
- Experience in Indigenous law, governance, or a closely related field
- Genuine interest in and sensitivity to working with Indigenous communities
- Robust drafting and negotiation skills
- Willingness to travel to community meetings as required
