Early Childhood Educator

Our Burnaby South Child Care Centre is seeking a caring, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic Infant & Toddler Child Care Educator to join our team. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong English communication skills, both spoken and written. The educator will create an inclusive, nurturing, responsive, and safe environment that supports the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of children ages 0-3.

Working collaboratively with families and colleagues, the passionate educator will implement developmentally appropriate, play-based programming while ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of every child in their care.

This is a unionized position and will require membership with the British Columbia General Employee’s Union

(BCGEU). This position is open to all applicants.

Location: 5455 Rumble Street Burnaby, BC V5J 2B7

Hours: 35 Hours weekly from 7:15 am – 5:45 pm Monday to Friday (rotating shifts)

Wage: $25.95 hourly (including wage enhancement). In accordance with the British

Columbia General Employees union (BCGEU) Collective Agreement.

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Qualifications

 Valid Early Childhood Educator License

 Infant and Toddler License is an asset

 Valid Emergency Child Care First Aid Certificate

 Valid Food Safe Level 1 Certification

 Clear Criminal Records Check

 Proof of medical fitness to work with children

 Ability to lift 30lbs

 Passion for working with young children and in a team environment.
