Job Overview
Join our vibrant early childhood education team at Smart Kids Learning Centre as an Infant Toddler Daycare Teacher, where your enthusiasm and dedication will foster a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment for our youngest learners. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding infants and toddlers through their critical developmental stages, ensuring their physical, emotional, and cognitive needs are met with compassion and professionalism. Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote growth in language, motor skills, social-emotional development, and creativity for infants and toddlers
- Create a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence
- Monitor children’s health and safety continuously, adhering to all licensing regulations and company policies
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about each child's progress, milestones, and any concerns
- Assist with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, nap times, and transitions between activities
- Collaborate with team members to plan activities that support individual developmental needs, including those of children with disabilities or special needs
- Maintain accurate records of children's development, attendance, and incident reports using computer systems
Skills
- Fluency in English; is a strong plus for bilingual communication with diverse families
- Demonstrated experience working with young children in a classroom or daycare setting
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices for infant and toddler care
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and specialists
- Strong organizational skills to manage classroom activities and documentation efficiently
- Excellent time management skills to balance caregiving duties with educational planning
- Leadership qualities to guide children confidently while fostering independence and curiosity
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special education needs is highly desirable
- Proficiency in computer operation for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes
- Writing skills necessary for documenting developmental progress and incident reports
