Role Description The Finance Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. This role is responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing and reviewing financial statements, and supporting accounting activities to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
The Finance
Specialist will collaborate with advisors and internal stakeholders to provide financial insights, support investment and insurance recommendations, and assist in developing client-focused financial plans. Daily tasks include performing financial analysis,
monitoring performance metrics, preparing reports, maintaining financial records, and communicating findings clearly to both financial and non-financial team members. The role also involves contributing to process improvements, supporting audits, and upholding Crius’s standards of professionalism, integrity, and client service.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Finance, including knowledge of financial products, investment concepts, and financial planning principles.
- Experience with Accounting and Financial Statements, including preparation, analysis, and reconciliation of accounts.
- Well-developed Analytical Skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and support data-driven decision making.
- Transparent and professional Communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to diverse audiences and collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
- Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field; professional designations (e.g., CPA, CFA, or progress toward them) are an asset.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and financial software tools; experience with accounting systems is beneficial.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Canadian insurance and investment products, and familiarity with regulatory requirements in the financial services sector, is an advantage.
