Intermediate Life Insurance Underwriter Location: Remote, Anywhere in Canada The total target compensation (TTC) range, including salary and target bonus, is $63,600 - $98,580. This TTC range is applicable to permanent roles only. The actual base salary offered within this range will be determined by the successful candidate’s skills and experience, as well as internal equity.

Assesses risk in a timely manner to an approval limit of $1,500,000 for individual life and $500,000 for critical illness policies Provides sound risk decisions and related support to the Sales & Marketing and Retail business line teams Assess the mortality and financial risk for individual life insurance products through an analysis of financial and medical information via paper-based, electronic and telephone underwriting Interact with reinsurance providers to spread risk on retention amounts that exceed the Empire Life retention limit Consult with Senior team members, Medical Directors, or Technical Lead and Senior Management on any questionable situations Participate as an active team member for assigned projects Review the work of junior team members and provide coaching as required 2+ years work experience as an individual life underwriter ~ Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, email,
